Hello,

I will be traveling from Hiroshima to Tokyo using the JR Pass and reserved seats on the Shinkansen.
There is a transfer in Shin-Osaka.

How to validate the tickets at the gate?
So far i've been putting both the JR Pass and reserved seat ticket in the ticket reader at the gate, and things work as expected.

Would i have to put the JR Pass + the reservation Hiroshima<->Shin-Osaka + the reservation Shin-Osaka<->Tokyo in the ticket reader in Hiroshima?

Regards,
J. Reis

Hi J. Reis,

Your JR Pass is your one ticket for Japan, so only this should be put into the gate.

Kind regards,
Daniel

Apparently you can/should put however many reserved seat tickets you have together with your JR Pass ticket at the gate - the machine will correctly identify them and spit out only the JR Pass at the end of the journey.
Obvisouly this only applies if you have reserved seats.
