Hi there,
There are two routes you can take.
One is by Hokuriku Shinkansen to Toyama and from there by limited express train to Takayama.
The other is to travel by Tokaido Shinkansen to Nagoya and use the Hida ltd. express from there.
Expect to travel 240-300 minutes on each route.
