Hello! I'm travelling to Japan this sunday and will be stayin until april 23, almost one month. During the first days I will be in an organized tour, but from the 8th of april until the 23rd I will be on my own.
My questions are as follow:

Question 1: I'm late on getting the JR Pass, I didn't know it was sent by FEDEX, I though I just had to buy it online and could show up in Japan with a digital confirmation number of some sort, but I just found out it is mailed using FEDEX, I live in Costa Rica and don't think that if I order it today I would get it here on time. So I wanted to know if I can get it mailed to one of the hotels I will be staying at the beginning of my stay in Japan? If so, what should I put in the address?

Question 2: I'm not sure whether to get a 7 day pass or a 15 day pass, or if I should get it at all? I want to be in Tokyo, visit places like Hakone (Mt. Fuji), Hiroshima, Matsumoto, for a couple of days each probably. I'm still looking at other places I could visit. My guess is it would be worth it to buy the pass would it ? would you recommend it? and if so, 7 or 15 days?

Thank you so much for your answer!

Hi there,

Question 1: I'm late on getting the JR Pass, I didn't know it was sent by FEDEX, I though I just had to buy it online and could show up in Japan with a digital confirmation number of some sort, but I just found out it is mailed using FEDEX, I live in Costa Rica and don't think that if I order it today I would get it here on time. So I wanted to know if I can get it mailed to one of the hotels I will be staying at the beginning of my stay in Japan? If so, what should I put in the address? This is no problem, we can send the JR Pass to your accommodation in Japan. Just put in the address of your hotel as delivery address when placing your order.

It is hard to say without knowing your full itinerary but a 7 day JR Pass would already give you great savings if you just visited Hiroshima from Tokyo. The magic of the JR Pass is also that it is unlimited, you can take any train you like during its validity period and the flexibility is great. You can change your plans on the go.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Thank you so much for your answer Daniel. I will then organize my itinerary and buy the 7 or 14 day accordingly and send it to a hotel. Thank you!
