Hakata to Tokyo

Hi there,

It is correct that the Nozomi is not included but you can use the Sakura and Hikari Shinkansen instead. Going with the JR Pass from Hakata to Tokyo would mean, taking the Sakura Shinkansen from Hakata to Shin-Osaka and from Shin-Osaka use the Hikari to Tokyo.

There are Green Seats available between Hakata and Shin-Osaka but there's only half a train car, I would recommend reserving seats for this 1 day in advance.

Hi Daniel,

I’m planning on purchasing a 7-day pass to travel from Tokyo to Fukuoka. If I activate my pass at 1pm on April 11, will it expire at 1pm on April 18? Also, what happens if I’m on a train when it expires at 1pm? Will the pass still be valid as long as the final reserved leg has begun? Hope this makes sense.

Hi Ryan,

The pass is counted in days and the first day is counted as a full day no matter what time you start using it. This means that the pass expires on the 17th at midnight.

Hope this does not bring you probs with planning.
