Hello Daniel,

I'm trying ro complete our travel plans but having difficulty finding the easiest ways to get there.

We will stay near Kuromon Market - Nippombashi Station what's the most cost effective way for us to get to a JR train line if we plan to go to Kyoto and Nara please?

Will it be more cost effective for us if we just buy an Icoca card as most of the routes I found on Hyperdia uses local metro trains not covered by the JR pass.

However, we do have plans to go to Hiroshima.

I hope you can give me an advise.

Hi there,

Using the JR Pass, you can use the JR line from JR-Namba station. Then local trains to either Nara or Kyoto. You will likely need a transfer at Tennoji station.

You can use the JR Pass Fare Calculator to find an approximate ticket cost of a single route or even your full itinerary.

Kind regards,
Daniel
