Getting from Haneda airport to Tokyo City

Once I arrive in Haneda Airport, I'm going to exchange my voucher for my Japan Rail Pass, but I intend to use it only a few (4) days later. So officially it will only be activated a few (4) days later, but can I still take the Monorail from the Airport to Hamamatsucho Station for free? Or do I have to pay? But I'm also planning to get the 72 hours subway ticket since I'm staying in Tokyo for the first 3 days. So what is the cheapest and fastest way to go to Tokyo City? Or what would be your best solution? From the airport I'm going directly to my hostel which is in Taido.

Thank you

Hi there,

The JR Pass is only valid for the validity period from the day that you select when activating it. Any travel before or after will not be included.

Local travel within Tokyo won't cost a lot though and buying day tickets or just normal tickets won't cost much. For going to Taito, you may want to hop on the Keikyu line to Tokyo station and from there use the metro to your accommodation.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
