Hello-

I am a Japanese national who have resided in the U.S. since 2001. I was on my student visa until I received my green card issued in 2012. I have lived in three different states and the consulate at my current residency can only issue proof of residence for the duration that I have lived in my current state (4 years). I cannot travel to two different states to get the proof of residence for the entire duration of my living here.

Would my record of old visas plus green card deemed acceptable as my proof of residence, as required by JR?

Hi there,

I'm afraid not, you would need proof from your local embassy that you've registered in the US for 10+ years to be eligible for the JR Pass. It is not possible to combine multiple items like an ID card, Green Card and so on.

Kind regards,
Daniel
