We're traveling to Tokyo in September and I was curious about using the rail pass. I know we can travel far distances using the pass, but can I use the pass within the city if Tokyo on the trail stations? I didn't know if the trains were different companies or whatever. Thanks for your help.

Hello there!
Certainly, the JR Pass is both usable for travel between cities but also on the local JR network within major cities such as Osaka and Tokyo.
To make life easy, we have an interactive map which all lines covered throughout Japan, it's a very good resource for planning.
