I will be in japan for 15 days. However, during my stay in Tokyo I will not activate it. I am thinking about going to Kyoto by bus during the night and reach in the morning to the same. Therefore, I wonder if it is worth it to use it the JR pass during that week in Kyoto, Hiroshima, Miyajima, then Osaka and finally going back to Tokyo for one more night by train.

Thank you in advance.

Hi there,

It would be close but I would not recommend using a night bus when you have limited time in Japan. You'll likely be tired the following morning and risk losing the next day to fatigue. With the Shinkansen you're there in little over 2 hours and would have the rest of the day well rested to explore Kyoto.

Hope this helps,
Danel
