Hello,

I just purchased a JRP for our upcoming trip Japan. We will be staying in Osaka and Tokyo (arriving via Kansai, leaving via Haneda). I am a little confused about our best possible travel routes using the JRP and am hoping someone can kindly assist. In Osaka we are staying in the Umeda area. From here, can someone kindly recommend best travel routes for the following. We will be forever grateful!

Osaka to Kyoto:
- Arashiyama Bamboo Forest - Golden Pavilion - Fushimi Inari Taisha - Back to Umeda, Osaka

Osaka to Nara:
- Day trip to see the deers in Nara Park

Osaka to Hiroshima and Miyajima (whichever order is best)
- Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum - Hiroshima Castle - Itsukushima Shrine

Osaka to Tokyo overnight trip

Thank you very much!

Hi there,

Umeda is the area where Osaka station is located, from there you can take direct trains to Kyoto, Nara and to Shin-Osaka. From Shin-Osaka you can use the Shinkansen to Hiroshima and Tokyo directly.

You can use local trains from Kyoto to Arashiyama (Sage-Arashiyama station) and Fushimi Inari. The Golden Pavilion has no close station, I would use a taxi or bus from Arashiyama.

The Shinkansen will take you directly to Hiroshima, from Hiroshima you can take a local train to Miyajima guchi, from where you the JR Ferry goes to Miyajima island.

The tourist bus is also covered in Hiroshima:

Hope this helps,
Daniel
