Daily Trip from Tokyo to Kyoto

I am planning to visit Japan for one week in May. (24-31 May). My question is can I make a daily trip from Tokyo to Kyoto and return the same day by using Rail Pass? Or is it not worthed? And how much is such a round trip? Thanx

Hi there,

Yes it is possible. A one way trip is about 3 hours, so you would spend a good amount of time in the train. You could still see a nice bit of Kyoto if you leave early and return late.

The cost of a ticket depends on what train you travel on but is about ¥ 14,000 for one way or double for the return.
