hello,
we plan to arrive in Tokyo on the 24th of april and we want to see the cherry blossom, so we need to travel north in Aomori, in Hirosaki. Do you think that this trip with SHINKANSEN HAYABUSA 21 is covered by the jr pass? Can you suggest us the way back south, should we do the same route or go other way to see different places? the route tokyo-kanazawa is included in jr pass? kanazawa takayama? takayama kyoto? thank you in advance!

our first plan is buying the jrpass 14days.

arriving in narita airpot there is connection including in jrpass to ueno tokyo right?
then
Tokyo 5nights
Shin-Aomori (hanami) 1nght
kanazawa 1 night
Takayama 1night
Kyoto 4nights
Hirosima 1night
kurashiki 1night
tokyo 1night
back home :)

Hi there,

All these routes are covered by the JR Pass :) For the Sakura, you would indeed have to be north to catch them by the end of April. Depending on the Sakura forecast. you may even want to consider Hakodate. Fort Goryokaku and Matsumae are beautiful stops to go cherry blossom viewing and they're not that far if you are already going to Aomori.

The Hayabusa Shinkansen is covered by the JR Pass and the Green Seats are especially nice if you have a 1st class pass.

Hope this helps :)

thank you very much for your quick response. what is the process we need to follow as soon as we arrive in the airport in order to use our pass? do we need to book in advance our seats? is it possible not to find a seat the day we want to travel?
