I am planning an approximate 30 day visit to Japan and would like to have rail access the bulk of my visit. Am I allowed buy a 21 and 7 day pass and use one after the other? Thanks for any input.

Hi there,

Yes, you could do that.

Hi,
As long as the periods of validity don't overlap, you're fine. But with long trips like yours, it does raise the question of if you are traveling enough to make the 2nd pass worth it. Please make sure you're at least breaking even, and also that a regional pass won't serve you as well for less money.

Good luck.
