Hi there,

We plan to travel from Nara to Tokyo on our way back, after starting our JR passes in Kyoto (the itinerary being Kyoto - Osaka- Nara- Tokyo).

Is this possible? are there any bullet trains available that are included in the pass ? How long is the journey?

thank you
Mihai

Hi Mihai,

Yes, this is certainly possible :)

To travel from Nara -> Tokyo using the JR Pass, take a local JR line from Nara to Kyoto station. At Kyoto you can board the Hikari Shinkansen bound for Tokyo. The full route will take about 4 hours.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
