Konichiwa,
I would like to travel Japan with a 21-Day JR Pass.
My question is: Do I have to order / apply for JR Pass before my trip while still outside of Japan (in my case: Germany)?
Or can I buy a JR Pass anywhere, anytime (with my visa / passport) when I‘m already in Japan?
Unfortunately, I cannot find a definitive answer on the website...
Thank you very much for your help.
Arigato,
Philipp
Hi Philip,
It is possible to buy both in Japan. I do suggest getting both in advance as the price for the Japan Rail Pass is purchased 10-20% cheaper when purchased online. The same goes for WiFi.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
