I will be in Japan for 11 days and need to know if we should purchase the 7-day or 14-day pass. Which will be the most cost efficient with our itinerary (below)?

Day 1- Narita Airport to Tokyo
Day 2- Tokyo
Day 3- Tokyo to Hakone (Day Trip)
Day 4- Tokyo to Kyoto
Day 5- Kyoto
Day 6- Kyoto
Day 7- Kyoto to Hiroshima
Day 8- Hiroshima to Osaka
Day 9- Osaka to Nara (Day Trip)
Day 10- Osaka to Tokyo
Day 11- Tokyo to Narita Airport

Thank you!

Hi there,

I think a 7 day JR Pass would suit your itinerary well when used from day 4 to day 10. This is the period where you are traveling most and a JR Pass will give you very good savings compared to purchasing normal tickets.

You can then just buy normal tickets or day passes while you are in Tokyo.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
