I have already received my Jr Pass through this site ( very good service, thanks). My question is I am leaving for ShinFuji to climb Mt Fuji on 11th Aug from Tokyo. Since it is Obon period, I might not get reservation in Kodama. What is best time to leave from Tokyo on Sunday 11 Aug to have best chance of getting seats. Early morning or in noon?

What day are you arriving in Japan? If you have a day or two, make the seat reservations in advance and you won't have a problem at all. Otherwise you can always go and get a non-reserved seat, just come 20-30 minutes early to the train and queue at the platform. Last option is not ideal but certainly works.
