Hi,

I'm travelling from Osaka (plane landed in KIX and gonna spend 3 days in OSaka, includes Universal Studio) to Kyoto (spend 2 days) and will take a quick stop for lunch at Takayama on my way to Tokyo (gonna spend 5 days in Tokyo) then take off from Haneda. So no return trip to Osaka.

Do I need a 14 days JR Pass or I can make it with the 7 days pass? Or perhaps I don't need the pass at all to begin with?

If I do need the pass, after I figure out which pass I should get (7 day or 14 day), do I need to reserve seats for trip from Osaka to Kyoto, Kyoto to Tokyo via Takayama?

Thank you for your help,
Monique

Hello Monique,

The difference is small but it would be most economic to buy normal tickets for this route. A JR Pass would have been really good if you made a return to Osaka. You can reserve seats when buying the tickets.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
