Hi guys,

Your inputs are appreciated. I will be travelinf with my family from Tokyo to Tokyo, Nara, Osaka, Hijima, Hiroshima, and Hakone.

I am planning to active my JR pass (lets say 1st of October) from Tokyo to Kyoto, 3 nights there and to Osaka for 2 nights then a day/night from Osaka to Hijima, and Hiroshima (spending 1night inHiroshima).

I am planning to take JR all the way from Hiroshima to Hakone where i will be spending 2 nights. With this itinerary, it is 1 day over the 7-day JR pass's validity so i will be purchasing one-way ticket (romance car) from Hakone to Shinjuku. Does this sound realistic?

Any suggestions for more luxurious Onsen ryokan that serves great dinners in room in Hiroshima ?

Tim

Hi Tim,

It sounds good to me and I don't think you are too aggressive, you have to travel to see stuff right!

Buying a one-way ticket Hakone to Shinjuku on the romance car sounds really good too, this train is not covered by the JR Pass in any case and using it outside the validity period means you don't lose anything.

I don't have much experience with Ryokan around Hiroshima but there are several really nices ones near Hakone.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
