7 days in Japan with JR Pass

Hello,
Our family plan to travel to Japan and see cherry blossom the first week of April, 2018. We flight in Haneda airport and flight out from Osaka airport. We are still working on trip itinerary between Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka.

  1. Can we use JR pass to go from HND airport to Tokyo, Tokyo to Kyoto/Osaka and between Kyoto and Osaka, Osaka hotel to Osaka airport (KIX)?

  2. Where to see cherry blossoms in the cities?

  3. We have 2 boys 10 and 13 yrs. Do you have any suggestions about places that they can enjoy/visit?

Hi Kate,

1.) Yes, the JR Pass would cover all these routes. As well as local JR lines within Tokyo and osaka.

2.) Every city has their own spots and highlights. There are many, some that come to mind: In Tokyo visit Ueno park and Mt. Takao. In Kyoto, Gion and Kiyomizudera are beautiful. A bit further from Kyoto is Yoshino, one of the best spots in Japan.

Thanks for your info.

What is best route from Haneda airport to Tokyo using JR pass?
We did look it up on google but confusing.

Hi there,

From Haneda to Tokyo, take the Tokyo Monorail from Haneda to Hamamatsucho station (the last stop of the monorail). From there use the JR Yamanote line to Tokyo station (just 5min away).
