Good morning,

I'm traveling with my family on the 7th of august. We are 2 adults and 2 kids <12 yrs. our plan is to stay in Tokyo for 4 nights, then to go to Kyoto for 3 days and then to travel around for 10 days.

Do we need a jrpass to travel in Tokyo?
If we buy a 7 days ticket can we use it over the 20 days stay or the 7 days must be in a row?

Thank you very much for your help!

Kind regards
Erika

Hi Erika,

The JR Pass is valid for a consecutive period and counts down, even on days that you do not use it. If you are looking to travel on a longer period, then a 14 day JR Pass could be a good choice.

Of couse it all depends on where you will travel, I can give you more detailed advice if you share your full itinerary.

Kind regards,
Daniel
