Hi there,
Happy new year and hope you can help me with the question below:

I’ll be travelling to Japan in January & would be glad if you could kindly assist to advise how many days JR Pass is recommended for my itinerary.

Day 1- Arrive at Narita International Airport to Tokyo
Day 2 - Tokyo
Day 3-5 - Hokkaido
Day 6 - Traveling from Hokkaido to Tokyo
Day 7 - Mount Fuij
Day 8 - Osaka
Day 9 - Kyoto
Day 10 - Tokyo
Day 11- Nakone
Day 12 - Tokyo
Day 13 - Narita International Airport

Should I get a 7 day JR pass or a 14 day JR pass? Your kind assistance will be much appreciated.

Best Regards,
Erica

Hi Erica,

The 14-day JR Pass is the best option here, because a lot of your travel is on the Shinkansen bullet trains and you will be actively traveling for more than 7-days.

Have you decided yet where in Hokkaido you want to visit? This can make a significant difference in travel time.

Kind regards,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,
We will be going to Grand Hirafu for skiing in Hokkaido. So how long it takes from Tokyo to Grand Hirafu in Hokkaido? Thank you.

Erica
