My sister-in-law and her husband and 2 daughters have a 5 year multiple entry visa and they were able to get JRPass. We are from the Philippines and have 5 year multiple entry visa. My sister in law went to japan last April. But I read that we are not eligible because of our type of visa. How come my sister in law was able to get JRPass?

Your visa should say "temporary visitor" then you can use the Japan Rail Pass.
