We will travel in Japan next April for 28 days. Starting in Tokyo (3-4 days) and then going around (Kanazawa, Takayama, Hiroshima, Kyoto, hakone) then going back to Tokyo for 3-4 more days. What will be the best of pass would you recommend... 2 -14 days or 1 - 7 days plus 1 - 21 days. Would it be possible to activation both of our pass upon arrival in Narita ? And can we buy it right now or do we need to wait until next year ?

Hi there,

I can't say for sure without knowing how many days you spend in each city. Looking at the cities you plan to visit, it would be a 14-day JR Pass or 21-day JR Pass.

I can tell you better if you tell me how many days you'll spend in each city. JR Passes can be activated at the same time.

Kind regards,
Daniel

Coming in Narita (April 8th) then spending
4 days Tokyo
3 days Kanazawa
2 days Takayama
4 days Hiroshima
2 days Okayama
5 days Osaka and surroundings (Kyoto, Nara, Kobe)
4 days Hakone
4 more days in Tokyo
Living from Narita on May 5th

So from what I can read, we could get 4 - 14 days pass then activate then first two upon arrival. Then the other 2 in Hiroshima witch be halfway thru our trip.
