Hi Daniel,

I plan a trip to Japan, flying to Tokyo Narita. Spending 4-5 days in and around Tokyo, then going to Kyoto - travelling around, Osaka, then to Sapporo and travelling around. Flying back from Tokyo. Can you please suggest which JR Pass I should buy? Any other tickets tips for this route?

Best,
Aggie

Hi there,

I'd use a 7-day Japan Rail Pass for the route Tokyo - Osaka - Sapporo. Do note that it is quite a long trip from Osaka to Sapporo, so you may want to add in a stop-over or two. Places like Sendai, Matsushima and Hakodate are worth seeing on route.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

thank you for your reply! We decided to spend 18 days in Japan, travelling the way I mentioned (with additional stops). Will 14 days ticket makes sense?

Thank you.
Aggie
