Hi there
We are 4 ppl flying in/out of Tokyo. We have 17 full days in Japan with 5-6 days to explore Tokyo as a plan. We would like to visit Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Kanazawa, Matsumoto, Nagano, Tateyama, Yokohama and possibly something else but not further that Osaka as we have young kids and we like slow travel.
What's the best way to utilise the pass?
Do we need 7 days just to cover Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka and do the rest without a pass?
Or 14 day pass is still a better value?
Many thanks
T

Hello there,
It would depend on how many days you spend in each city. If you would make the full trip in 7 days, go for the 7 day Japan Rail Pass. If you need more days, consider a 14 day JR Pass.
You can use the JR Pass Fare Calculator to find an approximate ticket cost of a single route or even your full itinerary.
