Hi, can you please advice me on buying the 14 or 21 days JR pass?
April 28th - May 3th: arrive at Narita and stay in Tokyo with 1 trip to Kawachi Fuji Gardens.
May 3th: travel to Five Lakes
May 4t: travel to mt Fuji
May 5th: from Five Lakes to Kyoto, stay here 5 days with 1 trip to Nara
May 10th: travel to Hiroshima, maybe make a stop in Kurashiki or Okayama
May 11th: to island miyajima
May 12th: travel to Beppu
May 13th: travel to Fukuoka
May 15th: fly to Okinawa
May 18th -20th Osaka
May 20th: to airport

My doubts:
- I was thinking about activating 14 days JR pass when travelling to Five Lakes, and use it untill flying to Okinawa. But since I want to make a trip to Kawachi Fuji Gardens, and also need airport transport from Narita and to Kansai, is is better to buy 21 days JR pass? - what do you think of my itinerary? Do you advice making a stop in Kurashiki or Okayama on my way to Hiroshima?

thanks in advance!

Regards, thosi

Hi there,

I would also use a 14 day JR Pass here and have the last day when you travel to Okinawa. This would give you the best possible savings.

Personally, I did not find Kurashiki that interesting. I would recommend making a stop over at Onomichi or visit Korakuen Garden in Okayama. Both places are much nicer.

Your itinerary looks great btw, love the visit to Okinawa too.

Enjoy your trip!
Daniel
