Hi
I am going with friends to Kyushu, they are staying 8 days and I will continue my travels for another 6 days.
should I just buy the JR national pass for 14 days as the 7 day Kyushu pass x 2 is more expensive or are there other options.
Sorry....I find the transport system very complicated.

It will depend on where you want to travel and for how many days.
A JR Kyushu pass will likely be the best option if you only stay around Kyushu.
