Hi,
I am traveling to Japan and land in Narita. From there I will be spending 4 days in Tokyo and leaving on the 5th day fo Osaka. I will then be in Osaka for 3 days then heading to Kyoto for 3 days then back to Osaka to fly out. Is the 14 day pass too much? How do I assure I am getting the most of the pass? Is there a map of trains that the pass gives me access too? I have found that the Hyperdia website isn't very clear. Any tips or suggestions?
Thanks,

Hi there,

Right now you'd not do enough travel for a 14 day JR Pass to pay off but may depend on what other side travel you will do. You can use the JR Pass Fare Calculator to find an approximate ticket cost of a single route or even your full itinerary.

For travel times, I recommend learning to plan with Hyperdia this way you can find any route/timetable and more. It's a great tool for planning with the JR Pass. We also have a useful interactive map with all JR lines included.

Kind regards,
Daniel
