Hello, because my trip is spread out and I am trying to use a rail pass for probably half my time, could you make suggestions please? I arrive in Kix airport (Osaka) August 31st, 2017. I believe I will pay for train one way to Kyoto. Then pay to Kanazawa

From there I am biking Noto peninsula for 9 days. That is when I am wondering if I should have a pass. So, from wakura onsen I will need to get back to Kanazawa. Then I would like to make my way to Kamikochi. I would like to explore there for a few days, and maybe go to Matsumoto. I then need to go back to KIX airport for departure.

So from Kanazawa till departure I think I can fit that in 7 days. Is there a JR rail pass I should purchase? Domo Arigato!

Hello there,

From reading your travel plan, I don't think that you'll do enough travel for a Japan Rail Pass to help you make savings. Instead, I would just buy normal rail tickets.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
