Hello,
Our family of four (age 5 & & 7) are planning to take a bullet train ride from Osaka to Tokyo. Should we just need to purchase one way tickets for each of us? Do children under 6 years of age ride for free? Thank you.

Hello there,
Yes, I would buy normal tickets if you travel one way. A JR Pass is good when you make a return.
Children below the age of 6 can travel for free but are not entitled to a seat, you'd have to take your child on your lap if the train is busy.
Kind regards,
Daniel
