I will have a 14 day JR Pass and would like to know if it is possible to depart Kyoto to Kobe to do some sight-seeing then travel to Nara to do the same before returning to Kyoto on the same day. Would I have enough time to do this in one day if I had an early start? Cheers Anne

Hi Anne,

Generally I advise spending one day in each place, going to Kobe, Nara and Kyoto on a single day takes quite a bit of travel and both Kobe and Nara offer more than enough to keep you busy for a full day. Having said that, it is possible to visit both in a single day, you just have to plan in well and keep to a schedule.

Cheers ;)
