Hi Everyone!!!

This year I'm going on my first travel to Japan (from September 27 to October 09).
My question is if I'll be able to travel with a 7 days JR Pass with the next itinerary:

-Arriving at Tokyo on Sept 27 (Staying 3 nights/4 days) also I'll visit Nikko in one of these days.

-On Sept 30 I'll go from Tokyo to Hiroshima (This is the day I'll active the JR Pass). I will stay there 2 nights and also will visit Miyajima.

-On October 2, I'll go to Kyoto and stay there 4 nights/5 days (From there I want to go to Osaka and Nara).

Finally on October 6 (The day the JR Pass expire) I'll be back to Tokyo where I'll visit Kamakura and then leave the country on October 10th

I really want to know if this could be possible or if I have to buy the 14 day pass because even if I'm travelling on a budget I don't want to miss the opportunity to make the most of it.

Thank You in advance!

Arlen

Hi Arlen!

Welcome to the forum. Using a 7 day JR Pass for the trip you describe above would work very well. Going to Hiroshima alone costs 18.000yen for one way and making the return covers the cost of a 7 day JR Pass and already gives you a great bit in savings. Any additional travel only ads to this.

You could also consider a 14 day JR Pass, as you'll do plenty of travel and you would also get good savings with a 14 day JR Pass. That said, I can understand that you would just want to stick to a 7 day JR Pass to keep your budget in check.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
