My wife and I will arrive by air ih Hiroshima late on November 2. We will travel from Hiroshima to Kyoto on Nov 5 and from Kyoto to Nara early on Nov 7. On Nov 8, we will travel to Tokyo Shinjuko and on Nov 9 around trip between Tokyo and Nikko. Is the JR pass the way to go? Ken

Hi there,

You can make good savings over normal tickets, if you cover Hiroshima - Kyoto - Nara - Tokyo and a day trip to Nikko with the 7 day Japan Rail Pass.

The JR Pass will cover all of this and you will just need a single ticket for all your travel. Additionally you can put the JR Pass to good use in Hiroshima. Covering both the ferry to Miyajima and the Hiroshima sightseeing buses.

Hope this helps,
