Should I buy JR or not?

We are a party of 3 adults.
We will arrive at Narita on Oct 9th and go straight to Kyoto by train.
We will stay in Kyoto until Oct 14th doing some side trips (Osaka, Hiroshima, Nara)
On Oct 14th we will o to a Ryokan in the Hakone / Fuji area
On the 15th we will go to Tokyo and stay there until 18th when we leave Japan by the Narita Airport.

My question: should I buy th JR pass or just pay as I use?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi there,

You have plenty of travel for a JR Pass to pay off. Especially travel to Kyoto, Osaka and Hiroshima is expansive without a JR Pass. You can also use our Fare Calculator and find out the total cost of your itinerary and savings possible with a JR Pass.

Hope this helps,
