Hi all,

I know is kinda early to plan the trip for April 17 but understand tat April is the golden month for Japan hence wish to get the tickets way in advance.

Below is my preliminary itinerary for the trip and would appreciate it if you could give me some advice on it ^^:-

13 April Osaka

14 April Kyoto

15 April Kyoto

16 April Kyoto/ can side track to Nara

17 April Kanazawa

18 April Kanazawa to shiragawa go back to Takayama (overnight) (wish to check is there any English website for Nohi bus booking?)

19 April Takayama to Nagoya (main focus is tateyama, is there a way to travel from takayama to tateyama?or shall i stop by at Nogoya?)

20 April Nagoya to Tateyama Alpine back to Kanazawa/Toyama (overnight) (Do I need to do any advance booking for the alpine route? Any English website I can do the booking?)

21 April Osaka

22 April bye

I also wish to check will it still possible to see Sakura when I reach Japan?

Will the JR regional pass for takayama hokuriku pass sufficient to cover my 17 to 21 Apr transport? Is it worth to get the pass or are there any other options?

Any other place that you all recommend me to stop by? My group is form up by my parent and relatives [5 elderly at the 60+ ages and 3 youngster at 20+ ages], we prefer scenery and sight viewing.

Would appreciate your advice.

Thanks,

Zhao

Hi Zhao,

18 April Kanazawa to shiragawa go back to Takayama (overnight) (wish to check is there any English website for Nohi bus booking?) The English website can be found here. However I think tickets have to be reserved by phone or purchased at the station.

19 April Takayama to Nagoya (main focus is tateyama, is there a way to travel from takayama to tateyama?or shall i stop by at Nogoya?) Nagoya can be nice as a quick stop, however its not much different from Tokyo and Osaka, so you could skip it without missing out something really big.

Do I need to do any advance booking for the alpine route? Any English website I can do the booking? No, there is no advanced booking needed or even possible for transport here.

I also wish to check will it still possible to see Sakura when I reach Japan? The Sakura season is generally at the start of April. Depending on the weather you may see a little but its likely to be over by the 20th of April. Maybe if you went to Hokkaido there may still be cherry blossoming.

Will the JR regional pass for takayama hokuriku pass sufficient to cover my 17 to 21 Apr transport? Is it worth to get the pass or are there any other options? Yes, its likely the best option where. While it does not cover all your travel it will still help you make savings.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
