Hello

Can you help me as I am a little confused with the trains that I can use with a Japan Rail Pass. I am travelling to Japan in January and am buying a 7 day Rail Pass. This is the intinerary that I would like to do:

Tues (1): Kansai Airport - Nara and sightseeing in Nara - then on to Kyoto
Weds (2): Kyoto
Thurs (3): Kyoto - Miyajima - Hiroshima - Kyoto
Fri (4): Kyoto
Sat (5): Kyoto - Hakone and sightseeing in Hakone - Tokyo
Sun (6): Tokyo
Mon (7): sightseeing in Tokyo - Tokyo to Tokyo Haneda airport

Can you help me with which trains I can use with the Rail Pass? I like getting up early in the morning - I just want to make the most of my short time in Japan, so can get early trains for day trips!

Thank you!

Hi there!

Looks like a great weekly trip to Japan, will this be your first visit? The JR Pass is a great option for your travel - as most of your travel will be on the high speed Shinkansen. I've made a map for you with your route. Look at the blue line, this is the Shinkansen which you can use to travel to Hiroshima and on to Kyoto. Trains depart every 30 minutes so you never have to wait long.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
