Hi there, this is our first time to travel around Japan using Japan train system.
There are 3 of us. We plan to arrive Kyoto first and stay in Kyoto for 4 days.

The 1st part of our journey is :From Kyoto, we would like to go Yokohama and Tokyo and then return to Kyoto.

The 2nd part of our journey is : From Kyoto, we are going to Nambo and stay for 4 days. We want to travel to Kobe.

1)What train ticket should we purchase?
2) We are arriving Kyoto on 19th May 2017. Is it too late to buy train tickets online?
3) Where can we buy the train ticket online that w can print as e-ticket?

Thank you for your help.

Hi there,

1.) I recommend using a 7 day JR Pass if you can include travel to Tokyo, Yokohama and back to Tokyo with it. Any additional travel will only add to your savings with the JR Pass.

2.) It depends where you live but I think there's enough time, you can find our shipping times here: https://www.jrpass.com/delivery

3.) It is not yes possible to print the JR Pass as e-ticket, we have to ship the JR Pass to your address.

Kind regards,
Daniel

Hi Daniel, thank you for your reply. I am going to take your advice and buy the 7 days Japan Rail pass.

  1. We are arriving Osaka, Kansai international airport , terminal 1 on 19th 9.35pm. We are going to Kyoto train station from the airport that night. What time is the last train to Kyoto station pls? Should we use the train or bus to Kyoto station? We are staying near Kyoto train station.

  2. If we use the 7 Day JR train pass on 19th May at 11pm; 25th June is expiry date, is it correct? At what time on 25th June that the JR train pass expire pls?

  3. Does the 7Day JR Pass include any specials entry to sightseeing destinations?

  4. What trains and bus can we use the 7 Day JR Pass?

  5. When I order the JR Pass online from Australia and paid in Australia; can I request delivery of the JR Pass to be in Singapore pls? This is because we have 1 person arriving Kansai airport 1 day later from Singapore.

Thank you so much for your help.

Hi there,

1.) The last train connection departs at 22:28. However I'd aim to be on the Haruka express at 22:16 as it is much faster and direct.

2.) The pass is counted in days and the first day is counted as a full day.

3.) The JR Pass is your transport ticket, it generally does not over discountes elsewhere. You can of course use it to places with no admission fee and save that way.

4.) You can use all JR lines nation wide. We have a map at www.jrpass.com/map

5.) Yes, we can deliver to either Singapore or Australia.

Kind regards,
Daniel
