Which lines are included when buying the JR pass and which aren't?

Hi,

I am having a hard time finding which lines I can use my JR pass on and which I will have to pay extra.

This is the route that I am planning on taking:
1. Osaka International Airport to JR Itabashi Station
2. JR Itabashi Station to Hirosaki Station
3. Hirosaki Station to Itabashi Station
4. Itabashi Station to Namba Station/Nipponbashi

I have looked on multiple sites and some say that the Shinkansen line for my trip from Itabashi to Hriosaki will cost extra and some say it is included. Could someone please let me know if my whole trip is covered by the JR pass?

Hi Shirley,

All these routes are covered by the JR Pass and there are no extra fees.
