Day 5: Tokyo to Osaka, Dotonbori
Day 6-7: Kyoto, Kobe, Nara
Day 8: Universal Studios Japan
Day 9: Osaka
Day 10: To Kansai Airport for departure

Looking at your trip, the best savings would be made by using a 7-day JR Pass.
The trips to Tokyo and back to Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe and Nara by far cost the most and it makes sense to use the JR Pass here.
