Hi there, two of us are coming to Japan in the middle of March, and we are mostly going to be travelling by train. I am wondering what pass will be best for our trip based on our itinerary.

We are doing:
4 days in Tokyo
then 2 days in the Mt Fuji area
then 4 days in Osaka/Kyoto
then 3 days in Hiroshima
and then back to Tokyo for 3 days.

Thanks!

Hi there,

You can consider the following two options:

1) 7-Day Nationwide JR Pass: This would be best for simplicity, covering all your major train travel in one go. I recommend activating this in Osaka to ensure it covers your long return trip to Tokyo.

2) The Kansai-Hiroshima Area Pass (5 days) + Individual Tickets: This would be the best value option. It allows you to ride the fastest Nozomi trains from Osaka to Hiroshima at no extra cost.

I hope this helps!

Kind Regards,

Mariko
