Hello
We arrive on 25 April at Narita and will depart on 5 May from Haneda.
We've got the following itinerary:
25-27 Apr - Tokyo
28-29 Apr - mount Fuji
30-02 Apr-May - Kyoto
03-04 May - Nara
05 May - Tokyo

Which ticket is going to be the most appropriate for us? regional tickets or the JR Rail Pass? or is it better to go on with single tickets? Point is that the vacation is 11 days long and it seems the JR Rail Pass lasts either 7 or 14 days -- this situation challenges us in understanding which solution is the best for us.

Thanks.

Hi there,

I recommend using a 7-day JR Pass and use it to travel to Kyoto, Nara and back to Tokyo. Then buy local tickets for around Tokyo. Local travel around Tokyo does not cost much and the JR Pass will be a big help when you start on your intercity travel.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
