Hi,

My children (13 and 14 years old) and I will be arriving in Tokyo Haneda airport on 6/18, staying in Tokyo for 2 nights, traveling to Kyoto on 6/20 , staying 2 nights in Kyoto and returning back to Tokyo Haneda airport on 6/22. We will do a bit sighting seeing in Tokyo and Kyoto using subway and other local transportation. do you think it is worth for us to buy a JR pass for our 5-day stay in Japan?

Thank you.

Hi there,

I do think a 7 day JR Pass is worth considering. The cost of the pass is similar to a normal return ticket Tokyo - Kyoto. Now you get 7 days of unlimited travel for the same price. You can for instance also the the JR Pass on the local JR Network in Tokyo, Osaka and elsewhere. In addition to travel to/from the airport.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
