Hello,

We will be travelling around Japan for about 3 weeks. We will travel from Tokyo to Hokkaido to Osaka to Koyasan and then back to Tokyo. We will stay for about 4 days in every place.

Which pass do you recommend for this kind of itinerary? And does the JR pass cover all the lines between these places?

Thank you!

Kind regards,
Katryn

Hi Katryn,

Yes, the JR Pass will cover travel between all these cities. As well as local JR lines within these cities.

Note that Koya-san would need a little additional travel, as the last part is travelled on the Nankai express.

I recommend using either a 14 or 21 day JR Pass, depending on if you can return to Tokyo before it expires :)

Hope this helps,
Daniel
