Dear sir madame,

My travel itinerary is as follows:

Arrival at Narita airport - travel to Tokyo
Stay for 7 days in the Tokyo area (osaka-tokyo hokuriku pass/ subway pass)
(via Haneda airport to Ishigaki from Ishigaki to Kansai) From Kansai airport to Mont Koya San to stay in a temple 1 night
From Koya San to Kyoto stay about 6 days (travel with Kansai wide area pass)
From Kyoto to Osaka stay 3 days visit Himeij and Nara (Kansai wide area pass)

Or should I buy the Japan Rail pass 2x 7 days?

Kind regards

Hi there,

A JR Pass works best for longer distances but as I understand your itinerary, you will fly these. As such much value of the JR Pass is taken away and it would be better to look at regional passes locally.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Dear Daniel,

In my case if Im visiting Tokyo and close by sites, would it be worth it to buy the Osaka Tokyo Hokurukii pass or just cover this with a metro card? And buy a single ticket from the airport to Tokyo city?

Kind regards,
Mirella
