Hi there,

From what I read, you have the same itinerary but mirrored in the second instance and to be honest, it does not really matter which of the two you decide on. I would go with option 1, if you want to put as much travel behind you as possible. Tokyo - Koya-san is quite a trip, so it can be nice to have it behind you. At the same time, having already had a long flight, you may want to take it a little more easy and travel to Matsumoto first. Either way, both options work and it comes down to personal preference.

The 7 day JR Pass will help you make great savings btw, you'll be traveling around plenty of time and this will help you get the best out of your trip to Japan and the JR Pass.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

This is the last schedule we are considering:

10.9 Narita - Tokyo (night Tokyo)
11.9 Early train to Matsumoto - Amichi - Alpin root (night Kanazawa or Toyama) (Start JR Pass)
12.9 Kanazawa - Shirakavago - Takayama (night Takayama )
13.9 Takayama (mayby with Kamikoch) (night Takayama )
14.9 Early train to Kyoto (night Kyoto )
15.9 Kyoto - Himeji (night Kyoto )
16.9 Kyoto (with day trip to Nara) (night Kyoto )
17.9 Kyoto - 22.30 sleep train to Nikko (night train ) (Finish JR Pass)
18.9 Nikko - Evening train to Tokyo (night Tokyo )
19.9 - 24.9 - Tokyo ( with 1-2 days in Hakone )

I will be glad to hear couple words about this schedule.
And last question What i can do with Luggage on the trip to Alpine root and on the way to Nikko.
Thanks!

Hi again!

While it looks good for the greater part. Please note that there is no night service from Kyoto. This means that you will have to travel by day to Nikko.

As for your luggage, you can use a luggage forwarding service. Such as the TA-Q-Bin service from Yamamoto transport.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

I check in Hyperdia site and find that I have train from Kyoto to Nikko in 22.45 and 23.54 and arriving in 10.20 in the morning. maybe I don't understand how to use the site?

Daniel hello. I have another question:
I add another 3 days to my trip and already close the flights. The question is if its possible to change the 7 days pass to 14 days pass some how. I already received the pass.
Thanks.

It is not possible to change the 7 day JR Pass to a 14 day pass. I would advise to cover as much as possible with the 7 day JR Pass and buy normal tickets where needed.

You could purchase an additional 7 day JR Pass if you really plan to do a lot of additional travel.
