I love the assistance you provide for itinerary checks!
We're arriving in Tokyo on 15Oct and plan on using Tokyo as a homebase through 21Oct, with plans to go to
Nikko and Kyoto and perhaps Hiroshima. We know we can do day trips and are open to an overnight if we need to. We are very flexible, we are interested in the 7day rail pass and want to use it efficiently, as we are on a budget.
We will be visting family the 21st thru the 27th in the Chiba area and head back to Narita for flights on the 29th.
Any suggestions in the order we should visit the above cities would be much appreciated, thanks!!

Hi J,
If you're on a tight budget, we have some recommendations for day trips from Tokyo.
If you don't mind an overnight stay, I recommend you try and stay overnight in Kyoto to break your trip up. Getting all the way to Hiroshima from Tokyo is a little tiring, and if you stay overnight in Kyoto you can really enjoy the evening in Kyoto and get to Hiroshima nice and early to include a visit to Miyajima, a wonderful island just off the coast (and home to the famous floating red gate, the "Torii" in the sea).
Hope this helps!

Not that tight of a budget but just didnt know how to fit in the Kyoto and Hiroshima thing, so we will do as you suggest and overnight in Kyoto so we can do Hiroshima at the same time! Thanks!
No problem - enjoy your trip!
