We are scheduled to arrive on May 18th around 14:00 if there are no delays. How long does it take to get through customs, take the NRT Express to Tokyo station to catch the Shinkasen to Kyoto in time for the Ryokan kaiseki dinner that night?

If that doesn't work out, then this would be our itinerary:
May 18 - NRT to Osaka
May 21 - Osak to Kyoto
May 22 - Kyoto to Tokyo
May 24 - day trip to Mt Fuji
May 27 - depart NRT

I plan on using a 7 day JR pass as I don't think a 14 day pass would be worth it. Does the JR pass include travel from Tokyo to Mt Fuji?
And how much is an individual ticket from Tokyo to NRT?

Hi there,

I would say about 40 minutes to clear customers, collect your luggage and clear the airport. However, this very much depends on different factors and can be faster or longer.

The train ride from Narita Airport to Kyoto will take around 4 hours, this can also be a bit more or less depending on what trains you use and how much transfer time there is in between.

Travel to Fuji is a bit complicated as there are many different area's around Fuji that you can visit. For details please see: http://www.jrpass.com/blogs/itinerary-tip-mt-fuji

Kind regards,
Daniel
