Hi,
I will be traveling Japan in October and am trying to decide if the JR pass will be worth it, or if it will be cheaper to buy regular tickets.
Here’s my itinerary:
4 Oct - Land Narita Tokyo
(4 Oct to 9 Oct in Tokyo)
9 Oct Hakone
10 Oct Kyoto
(10 Oct to 14 Oct in Kyoto with possible day trip to Nara)
14 Oct - Depart Narita Tokyo
Thanks in advance for your help!
JR Pass? Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Nara and Tokyo

Hi there,
Using a 7-day Japan Rail Pass will be well worth it for your trip. Think about it like this, the cost of a 7-day JR Pass is about similar to the cost of a return ticket Tokyo - Kyoto using the Shinkansen. Adding any further travel will only add to your savings. Such as travel to/from Narita Airport, to Hakone, Nara and any local travel on JR lines.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
