Hello. My husband and I are traveling to Japan in October 2026. We will arrive in Tokyo and plan to travel between Tokyo, Nagano, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara and back to Tokyo in 14 days. We will have smaller train needs to see Arashiyama and other surrounding areas of the major cities.
Would you be able to tell me which pass will meet our needs and be the most cost effective? If its an area pass, where would I purchase those?
Thank you

Hello,
For your route, the Osaka-Tokyo Hokuriku Arch Pass is likely your best option, as it is designed specifically for travel between Tokyo and Osaka/Kyoto via Nagano. For your return to Tokyo, you can simply purchase an individual ticket.
Alternatively, if you prefer the convenience of having all your travel covered by a single ticket, you could consider the 14-day Nationwide JR Pass.
I hope this helps!
Kind Regards,
Mariko
